Experiences or opinions? I returned the Cabelas digital turd that I got for Christmas and got this one. So far I didn't get the clean a screen thats supposed to come with it and I can't find the serial number for warranty purposes. I'll mainly do jerky but my wife wants to do fruit.
So, if you don't spend a lot of $$$ it won't be any good? I bought the $120 Cookmaster from Fleet Farm. Thats the cheapest one and its been great for me.
Ribs, bones up, down or just flip'em. 1/2 way through. Or use a rib rack so they're standing up. I've used the rack when I can't fit the halves flat on the top rack. The. Cookmaster only has 2 racks and its not very big. Thinking about adding a thirdd rack if I can find time with hunting...
Down a finger trying to type on my phone. For some reason my pellets just burnt from the bottom up. Reloaded pellets. Didn't burn long enough. Re-lit. It got around 8 hrs of smoke. At 4:30 itbwas raining & temp was 180 so I foiled it with the Dr Pepper & w sauce. Set but didn't turn on...
I just got it in. Trying to get as much smoke to it as I can in case it does have to go in the oven. Burned my @#&*! finger on the AMNPS! Went with about 3/5 hickory & 1/5 cherry.
I'm starting an 8.5 lb at 5 or 6 to bring to ny fantasy draft tomorrow, leaving at 10 a.m. or a little sooner. How long can I keep it in a cooler b4 it cools & tightens up or spoiling becomes an issue? Around midnight it will have to go to the oven. Rain possible tonight and its the cheap...
Does anybody brine and then smoke? I'm told a friend of a friend does it & they're really good. I just smoked them for 2 hrs with my new AMNPS & got hahardly any smoke flavor. The new toy worked well though. Maybe oak just doesn't give a strong flavor. Never used oak either. Maybe my buddy...
