Does Your Mes Produce Smoke Without Wood?

I have had my mes 30 older generation for a few months now and one thing i have noticed is that my mes seems to produce a light amount of smoke while pre-heating without the amnps or other fuel source being used.  I have my water pan foiled so im not sure if it is burn off from the foil, burn...

Do you still use a tile over the heating element on the mes?

Thanks i think a 12x12 tile is a bit to big for the mes 30 though.  I dont want to completely restrict air flow which is why i was thinking 10x10 or even 8x8.  I also have the 3" elbow over the vent which has worked well for me.  Glad to hear you have not had any issues with the tile.

Do you still use a tile over the heating element on the mes?

Dave, or anybody else what was your experience with just the tile?  You have done some awesome mods to the mes but im really interested in just the tile experiment at this point.

Im curious how many of you use or still use a tile over the heating element in their mes.  I have the mes 30 from last year and thinking about getting a 10x10 tile to cover the chip box to help even out the high temp in the right corner.  I have read about a few people having issues, either the...

    Super Bowl wings question: SOLVED!

I run my mes at max temp which is about 300 deg according to my mav 732.  I will smoke for an hour and a half for full wings, or an hour for wingettes.  Sauce and then on the grill for 3 min a side or so.

    HELP BUFFALO BACON RECIPE WANTED

Sure sounds good.  I would assume you have to hot smoke the bacon.  Im not sure how the wing sauce would work if cold smoking and slicing.  Very interested to see how it turns out.
