    The reason I ask is that my parents have like 15 fruit trees in their backyard. They have apple, plum, peach, pear, etc. I know apple is good but I hardly ever hear anyone talk about the others. Anyone ever use the types mentioned above? I'll have to tell my dad to save all trimmings and downed...

    Newbie with ECB

    Try the minion method for lighting charcoal. More unlit and less lit so the unlit catch slowly when throwing the couple of lit in. I just put together my ECB Gourmet and that charcoal pan is huge, too big for that unit I believe but we shall see. I have yet to season her.

    Tomorrow it all begins, mouth watering ribs/pulled pork and brisket. I might die from a meat overdose this weekend. I'm also fishing in a flounder tournament on Saturday down there. They probably are firing up their smokers right now!!!!

    Yup, this one is the best bang for the buck. I bought two seperate ones for the meat and chamber prior to seeing this one. I just got the ECB Gourmet for home and will buy this one. Now, I have a question.....in the ECD there are two racks, which one to take the chamber temp?

    Sure, I just ate the leftover ribs from the 4th yesterday and people said they tasted better. Put them in a foil pan covered with foil and throw in the oven for an hour or so when you wish to heat them up.

    Take it apart and put it back together again using instructions. Don't see how the lid could be off an entire inch on a new smoker, it's either a defect or put together wrong.

    Smoked 3 racks of Pork Spare Ribs

    Yeah, my brother got 2 of the three packs for this weekend. I think they weighed 24lbs and he paid $40. A bunch of meat on them and thicker, took a bit longer compared to the racks at the local supermarket. I will get the Sam's ones from now on.
