Figured as much, I'll post some pics of the process and product. I may just take them both off at 140 and then slice, put them on grill for a little to get rid of the pink for the lady folk.
So, going to smoke two 5# prime ribs tomorrow, this will be the first time smoking a primey. I saw a couple threads from Bear which look great, just wondering if there is anything I should look out for or any hints. I'll probably smoke one to 140 and another to 150 or so because there are some...
A lot of issues with the ET-732 being reported, happy I went with the ET-73.

Yup, ET-73(not ET-732), a lot of people don't need the 300' of range and the $60+ price tag. The ET-73 with the 100' range has been more than sufficient for me and many others. I just got 2 ET-73s for the price of one ET-732.
Anyway thanks for clarifying for others.
Just alerting everyone, I picked up two of them for $58 and free shipping. The one I have already ran me ~$40.
Actually it's $28.99:
NOTE: This is not the ET-732 which is listed for $59.99 on Amazon.
I guess you can mess around with the vent on the bottom of the charcoal pan/chamber. Maybe just get a piece of sheetmetal and attach it so you can open/close easily.
Thanks, speaking of color, everytime I smoke the finished product appears to be a lot darker than most pics shown here for some reason. But the finished product always tastes great and not a hint of burnt meat at all. Anyone know the reason for this? Too high temp maybe?

Thanks, they tasted great and everyone thought so too. I will be doing a bunch of wings this week when I'm down there again. The smoker got up to 312 for about 20 minutes then steadily declined until it hit 250 and stayed there the rest of the day. These el cheapos start out hot...
I was at my parents beach house and got bored so wanted to smoke, decided to try something different other than the usual ribs, shoulder, loin, etc. I have never tried chicken so I gave it a shot. All pieces were brined for 2 hours, the wings went in around 9:30am and taken off at 11:15am then...
I've smoked ribs and a pork shoulder on this smoker and had nothing but good results. The only issue I have had are temp spikes but what do you expect from a $40 smoker. I've never used it to grill but have used other vertical smokers for grilling in the past with good results. I just got a...
Was headed to Wildwood Crest, NJ on Thrusday night with the wife and 7 month old son. We stopped at my parents house to pick up my 5 year old niece. Well me, my wife, parents and niece were standing outside in front of my truck saying good bye, my mom then opens the other garage door and asks if...
I left out the part that I also smoked some spare rib pieces I had left over and froze since my last smoke. So while the butt was still smoking we were picking on the rib ends and what not, had some left over for lunch today!
