This is one of my ways of relaxing. If I am not try to cook something I am trying to find something to cook. Nothing better than getting out in the BIG SKY COUNTRY, with my kids. Unfortunately the kids were not able to make this trip, but it was definately a success
How was the lilac for flavor? I have a few in my yard that I am going to removing in the next week or so. I was going to haul them off, but if I can use it for smoke, than that is what I will do. GREAT LOOKIN' BIRD - NICE COLOR!
Sorry to all the oakland people but BRONCOS vs. raiders!
Avid Raider Hater! Hate is such a strong word, normally never in my vocabulary but I GOTTA LOVE DEM BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great lookin' bark!!! What measurements are you using for your rub, if I may ask? That is about the same mix that I use for my ribs, but I have added rosemary for the ribs.
I buy all of my pork ribs from Costco. They come three racks in a cryo pac and have always had to remove the membrane. The mebrane is generally very tight but with a little persistance, a fork, and some paper towels it will come off.
You should eb very proud of your accomplishment. The layout and workmanship is excecllant. I like the idea of the lower door assembly rather than one large door. Wish mine had that so I didn't loose all my heat when adding more wood. I may try and mod mine to serve the same purpose. Post...
I had the exact same problem with mine. I did not get the same response from cusotmer sevice though. I was told that this was due to "mis-use" and that they would not warranty the purchase. Used twice and got the "HI" reading as well. Tried new batteries, tried a hair drier thinking maybe...
I am wanting to make some snack sticks and haven't found a recipe so far. I am wanting to make something similar to "slim jim's" with a little more spice to it. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
Finally got my new smoker. It is a Cabela's model 48" Stainless Steel Vertical - 1200 sq in of cooking surface - Did the initial burn off this evening with some hickory chips - smoked on HIGH temp for about 1 hour, at 250*F. I am going to be doing two chickens this weekend and will post as the...
I just received a smoker from Cabela's for an early "Father's Day" gift, compliments from myself. I got the propane model (six racks) so that I can take it elk hunting and do up some ribs for everyone. Does anyone here, own one or know anything about them? I read all the reviews and thought it...
I usually take mine to elk camp each year. I get things going in the early afternoon and skip my afternoon/evening hunt. It is a huge hit to be able to sit down to a warm rack of ribs after being out all afternoon.
I saw a picture of a barrel type smoker that someone posted on here a while back. It was a vertical smoker that had a "roof" type structure on it and a hand crank on the side that raised and lowered the cooking grates. I am just a backyard enthusiast that enjoys cooking for my family and...
