Looking at making this thang into a smoker to start off a fire box in the very bottom with a plate heat diffuser and water pan and smoker racks. The dimensions on this are 4ft tall x 3 ft wide x 2ft deep....
Well I got a hold of Teton finally and unofficially they are made in the same factory as the Brinkman and others etc...
I was told nice smokers two problems one was the bolt that holds together the auger assembly drive and the anger. Motor can be an issue... Other than that basically the same...
Well the RO Steakhouse lighted pretty quick, and like regular RO was good in size as for pieces, very little dust, and no foreign material in the bag I bought. The one problem I am having with Lump coal is the little ash floating in my kettle when I lift the lid almost like a piece of newspaper...
Ok a little off subject here but not to far.....
So I go into Menards today to pick up some lawn supplies and you know I had to go down the grill/smoker aisle for no apparent reason but to scratch the itch.......And I see Royal Oak Steakhouse GB 8lb bags for $3.97, well never seeing it before I...
This is the first I have seen the new bag of Kingsford, maybe were talking of something different....I'm thinking they made a recent change to the KBB...or am I mistaken....I had quite a few old bags of the KBB, and hused them and RO and Stubbs all last year so I never paid much attention to...
Just one word of caution with the Stubbs that I have found is.....on initial start up it seems to put off quite a bit more smoke than the Kingsford blue, but once it gets ashed over it is a very clean burning coal with less ash than KBB.....don't let that initial smoke bother ya it will go away...
I think I will do a test burn with the new blue bag, and a bag of Stubbs, somewhat of a controlled test burn and see what happens.....I'm really kinda stuck on the Stubbs brand of charcoal.....
anyone try the green egg lump? That stuff is kinda pricey
Yep thats the one......the Briqs are a little different in shape...maybe deeper grooves than the older bag.....
Let us know how that La Caja works for ya.......
My problem with Lump recently has been the poor quality of pieces and alot of dust and junk in the bags.....that goes for the RO Red...
Ok have any of you folks used the new and improved ( There Claim ) blue bag of Kingsford?
I have been using it, on my second bag now, and while I have no hard data to report, I will give you my observations...
1. I think it does light quicker at least when using the chimney...
2. The faint...
Oh man those look awesome....just one more thing to do with PP....really the ideas are endless.....some of our fav's are PP nachos...

Arthur Bryants is in KC, have eaten there many a time, and Like Porkaholic said it is a vinegar based sauce, I like vinegar based sauces so it is one of my favorites, like said before try it out on a few different types of meat.
To me it is unlike any other sauce I have tried, a bit different...
Diggin the piggin.....pics look good, although that last one is either a bit fuzzy or I have me beer goggles on..
Looks great looking forward to seing some pics of the finished product...
