I picked up a 120 gallon tank about a month ago, a 5x10 utility trailer a couple days ago, and today I went and got a 4x8 sheet of 1/4" plate sheared for the FB and RF plate. I'm doing a 24" square FB. Got the plates tacked up today and framed the door opening. I'll be doing a wood stove...
I would find something sturdy with a gap that you could put center of bend over gap and use a bottle jack to push it. Some creativity with a chain and bottle jack should work also. Corners need to be pulled down and center pushed up. Just be carefull you don't end up changing it somewhere...
I'm starting a new smoker soon just picked up the tank yesterday. It's 5 feet long 24 inches in diameter. Hopefully I've got all my numbers correct.
CC is 27143
FB/CC opening should be 108.5
Same for area at end of plate and underneath it
FB should be 8957 although I planned to do a 22"...

Cool build but I've got to say something since no one else will. Building a smoker with your welding skills is one thing but a trailer that will be pulled on the highway is another thing all together. Are you welding the trailer yourself or having a pro weld that? What kind of welder are you...
I would go with a vertical UDS. Drums just aren't thick enough to hold heat in a horizontal configuration in my opinion. I'm in SoCal also, where are you located?

Google feldon smoker calculator and enter the tank dimensions. Your specified firebox size is only 25% of what's needed for a tank that size. So in other words your firebox needs to be 75% bigger at a minimum for the smoker to work properly. Check out the calculator, and I would definitely...
