I cut a 2x4 the length of the inside the main chamber. That provided me a solid base to the side so I could knock out football with hammer. Someone one here suggested it to me and it worked like a charm. had it out in less than a minute.
I have one of these. I actually love it! As far as the head goes, yes it will give you too much head. However, you can tilt glass as far as you can to slide the beer down side of glass then place tip of spigot into the beer when the level gets close enough. Pours a perfect beer everytime...
I have a CGSP, but was thinking of building a smoker from scratch. If that's the case I won't bother. I think I'm going to go to the local scrap yard and see if I can find a nice large propane tank to use. thanks guys!
I've been thinking about building my own smoker from scratch. I really liked the 55 gallon horizontal someone just recently build. What is the gauge metal of a 55 gallon drum and the CGSP?
I bought the one from chargriller. It's windy by where i'm at so the wind ripped it up in no time. I ended up throwing it away and now I have no cover.
My neighbor has a silver smoker and i have a chargriller smoking pro. The main chamber on the silver smoker is MUCH smaller than the chargriller. I don't believe you could stand up a beer can chicken in there, but i'd say that the silver smoker has a tighter seal and better heat control than...
I don't know how many of you guys watch pitmasters on TLC, but hte cool smoke guy has an awesome smoker. Calls it the smokevette or something like that. What kind of paint are they using for those fancy smokers? Anyone know?
Yes, you hear what he said about the young kid Trigg was allowing to watch what he does to prepare for the Grand Royal? He said sure he would teach him if he paid! I really liked that last episode. Trigg seems like a really cool dude! I admire him for what he did for the other guy who I find...
I bought a generic replacement from Menards. It was $7 I believe. Its no where near as sturdy as the weber smokey joe grates. It's flimsy and bends, but it works. You can always order a smokey joe grate from amazon.com
I thought the same thing I'm not sure how long it will last. But for $13 that i paid for it I figured I'll try it out. Maybe some of the other guys who have had them installed can chime and let us know how it worked out for them.
Yes, I bought mine from Lowe's. It was $13 I think. I used a Sawzall and it was ready to install in like 3 minutes. The bolts sit right on top of the lips used to hold the cast iron grates in place. there is plenty of room left for me to slide out the tray to dump the ash too! This is truly...
I've had the charbroil shaker basket for about a year now. Just been putting off installing it. Yesterday I made 2 slabs ribs and 2 whole chickens for our neighbors and a house full of kids! So I decided to go ahead and install it. Sorry, no q-view! I took a sawzall to the basket and put in...
Rice pics! Rice came out good. The pork wasn't as dry as I first thought and to my disbelief, our kids liked it! lol Too bad i don't have a dog to give the bones to!
Ok, it's finished. I must say that I don't really like the rub and spices that they gave us with it. Also, I should have basted it while cooking. It's pretty dry. I think I will do this again, but I will just use brown sugar like Rivet suggested. Anyways, here are the pics.
