    Snack stix

    I made some high mountain snack sticks yesterday and just got em out of the ref to cut up into short pieces. My question is, since they been in the ref can I leave them out on the counter for a few days? I was going to take some to work. I will post some pics.

    Thanks guys for all the input. I think, just because lowes has this, I am going with "white wood" t&g. They did not have pine t&g but they are saying that "white wood" is a kind if pine. It is 1x8 t&g boards. Im pretty sure they are very low grade but i dont care. i can stain the outside...

    Guys, my local lumber supplier only carries white wood or cedar for t &g. I know cedar is a little more but what do you guys think? The smoker will be about 2x3x5 tall. Is cedar ok to use? Will the cedar give a odor to the meat? I don't plan on taking the temp any higher than 180 or so...

    That's exactly what I am looking for. Nice build. Question, did you build a frame inside and then attach the siding? What type of fasteners did you use to tie everything together? If glue what kind and if screws or nails material. I'm guessing galvanized should not be used.

    Well thank you kind sir!!! I just have one final question, for now. Storage and shelf life for jerky that is cured?? I'm guessing a few months if vacuumed sealed and dozen? A week or so on counter in breathable container? A few weeks in ref?
