Ok all you GMG owners, I'm looking for information on the Company, Customer Support, Etc. Especially interested in how well the Controller works at maintaining Temperatures. Then I would like ANY information you might have on the Davy Crockett Model.
Reason is I'm looking for a Traveling...
Another vote for the Yoder YS 640. Had mine for 3+ years now and it has performed flawlessly for me. Couple that with fantastic customer service the couple of times I did have problems and it's a no brainer to me. I ordered the extra shelf and have used the heck out of it also. Just bought...
I've had my Yoder 640 for a little over 2 years now and I LOVE it. Just me in the household, so ya it's a bit overkill at times but load it up with a batch of Salmon or Beef Jerky and then it's just right. Or throw half a dozen racks of ribs in for a gathering. It has done everything I've...
Had my YS640 for a bit over 2 years now and like it even more than I did when I bought it. Company has been top notch to deal with anytime there has been a problem, which has been twice. Hot rod went out and the temperature probe died. Both times they had a replacement part out ASAP and at no...
I tried the treager pellets when I had a treager. At the time they were the only one's available locally. they were $19.95 for 20 lbs. Couldn't tell any difference in the flavors. Later tried some other brand that had an Alder base and was cheaper, again no real difference in the flavors. ...
Had one, was broke right out of the box. Dealer fixed it, worked one more time and then broke again the 3rd time I tried to use it. Needless to say that was the end of treager at my place. Also it would not fit through the doors on my Motor Home without laying it on it's side. Once through...
If you decide to go Pellet, with your stated budget a Yoder YS640 would be my choice. That was MY choice 2 years ago and it would be my choice again if I had it to do over.
Don't know anything about the MAK, but I love my Yoder 640. I've had it for almost 2 years and other than the Hot Rod going out it has performed flawlessly on everything from Steak to anything low and slow. Does GREAT Jerky and Smoked Salmon.
Did you try Manually Priming it? Basically wondering if the Auger works at all here. Once you hit the start button your readout should start flashing 3 bars in a rising mode then 350.
Hey Beer,
I know folks with the GMG and they have nothing but praise for the grill. I actually looked at them before I bought my Yoder. As for the "Chinese Hunks of Junk", to me that describes the Treager. Had 2 of them at one time. First one worked ok, but when I had trouble the company...
