I am looking at a MES (20070411). I can get it for free due to some points I have earned.
My question is, is this a good model? I hear get gen#1 not gen #2.
Thanks
I have a Cabbalas dehydrator. Set it for 160 degrees. I do understand that the meat may not get to that temp. This batch is gonna be ground beef.
I do plan on using deer. It will be frozen first.
I just got a dehydrator.......... All i read is pre heat meat in oven to 160 degrees before dehydrating it. Is this necessary with the LEM jerky packs they include a cure.
Thanks
WELCOME!!!!!!!!!
I have been here for a few years mostly reading. I don't have much knowledge to share at this time, but plenty of the team has a large amount to share.
I to live in South Louisiana its a great state.

O we got good food.........
Ok been looking over countless post about smoke houses. My question is can a Smoke house be made with the intent of using wood as the heat source?
I saw plenty that are using propane to heat, but I think i would prefer using real wood.
What say you?
Well I have been smoking for a few years.
I always use a reverse flow smoker that i made myself. I will say we use a Master built at the camp. One of my members purchased it last season. I love it and if not for wanting to go old school on my smokes at home I would get you yesterday for the house.

Thank you for the response. I was considering adding more to their seasoning in stead of starting from scratch, but I don't know who much they add to begin with. I guess after looking at the receipt you attached a little goes along way.
Hello Team,
I have some breakfast sausage seasoning i purchased from a local supplier down here in South Louisiana. It is pretty good but can be better.
It is lacking what I call the breakfast seasoning flavor.
My question is what are the ingredients that make the meat taste like Jimmy...
Thanks...
I figured after reading and think this throught they were mostly the same except for the shape. I guess the Jerky guns manufactors have made a use for the guns. Calling it jerky, but its basically Summer Sausage.
