This has happened to me twice now. What I have found is that if you do not clean the ashes out on a regular basis this will happen. After cleaning everything out my treagar works good. Except when I forget to clean everything out.

Welcome. As Dave put it this sight will become addictive. There is so many great recipes here. I just continue to build my gotta try that list. I would also recommend taking the e-course.

Here is the brine that I use. It is very basic and I have not found anybody that doesn't like it yet. I soak in this for 24 hrs. Rinse, pat dry, air dry until a slight glaze forms, and smoke at about 180 for as long as it takes. I try not to get it too dry still a little moisture in the fish. I...
