    Hard Smoked Eggs. With Q-view

Not sure where to post this subject, but Poultry seemed the logical choice. Yesterday, I smoked a 13lb bird, and roasted one as well. With all the holiday choas, I only got 1 pic of the smoked yard bird. Brined with 2cups K salt, 2cups Br. sugar, 1/4cup chopped garlic, 1/2cup bl. peppercorns...

Teach myself to weld or take courses at college?

We only use Miller welders, they are tried and true the best on the market. We have one of these that we use on the road, and I have one at home for personnel use. You may think it's pricey, but you could weld smokers all day long with this gem. Miller.

Teach myself to weld or take courses at college?

I'm also a certified welder/fabricator of 15 years. Self taught welding may be very frustrating at first, but once you make that wire sound like "sizzling bacon", you'll be just fine. Although Lincoln welders differ from better made welders, they work just fine. Set your Amps on about 20, and...

Nice work on the smoker. Sealing those gaps in the firebox will help you out a lot. As far as the food pics, I licked my monitor ;)

    Smoking my first fattie...

After the first flip. Fresh out from under the broiler. Chicken and Mozzarella stuffed fattie. However, I am assuming that I did not seal the ends very well and lost the majority of the cheese to the bottom of my smoker. Lesson learned. With that being said, It tastes AWESOME. Already...

    Smoking my first fattie...

Ok, I finally have everything under control. It is so windy here today that I was having trouble keeping the smoker at 200*. So I had to move it so that the firebox vent was getting good air flow. Not an easy thing to do when the beast weighs all of 300 pounds!! Up and at it this morning, ready...

    Smoking my first fattie...

...It was a cold, crisp, day in February of 1990. We were on our way to a tattoo shop for my brothers first tattoo. Wait...What? Sorry. Wrong forum... Anywho, I will be "smoking" my first "fattie" in the smoking device tomorrow. As soon as I heard about this awesome little nugget of orgasmic...

Home made smoke box with pictures .....what do you think

Before I made my smoker I used the same approach in my Weber grill for smoking. Although I used an actual smaller cake pan (4"X9"), and used indirect coal formation(wood chip pan in center of coal rack, coal circled around pan). It worked wonders for Christmas hams!!  Good luck and share the pics

My name is Steve, and I'm a smoke-a-holic...

Not sure what you mean by "step", But I am 3 smokes in without much influence from others. I've smoked a few times on my Weber Performer on previous occasions(Turkey for Thanksgiving, Hams at Christmas), So I have the concept down. I just built a new toy and would like expand my horizons. Now...

That's the main reason I moved from Milwaukee to Western KY. You don't have to shovel sunshine 62* and sunny here tomorrow. Gonna bow hunt morning and evening. Looking to smoke a venison ham soon
