I have a kamado joe classic, a 36" blackstone and a 42" gas grill all out in the same patio area. I haven't used my gas grill in over a year but I use the kamado joe at least twice a week and the blackstone at least 3 times a week.
If I remember right the restaurant in the commercial isn’t on the lake. The ad is misleading. The pics are from The Smokin Pig in Pendleton SC. Worth the drive from Hartwe’ll though if you can make it. I have in-laws in the area and time my trips up there around stopping by.
I have a kamado Joe classic and love it. At the time it was a better deal than the big green egg as far as what was included. Also got mine with a free joetissery which sweetened the deal. I like the flexibility of the divide and conquer rack. It eliminates needing an additional accessory for...
My office is selling off a couple trailer cookers. This one has room to cook a whole hog on the back and also has a side grill and side burners. It needs to be cleaned up but the burners are in good shape and it all works. What y’all think worth?
I just posted a question on egghead forum two weeks ago about what kind of knife to use for slicing brisket and the overwhelming favorite was a slicing knife. I’m having a hard time slicing thin slices with my chefs knife. This brisket was fantastic but not thin slices like my wife likes. Good...
Sounds like you are a magnet for hurricanes. I work for a utility down here. Don't take this the wrong way but maybe you should visit a different beach far away from here for a few years if it will keep the hurricanes away from us. Just kidding...but seriously. Evacuation traffic is a beast...
We live in Conway. Grew up here so it’s home but it is getting way too busy. Summer time is really busy. I liked Myrtle beach 15 years ago way better than what it is now. It’s still a great place to live though.
Good luck with BBQ near Myrtle beach. I’m local to the area and I’ve been disappointed in every joint I’ve tried down here. Agree with the comments about skipping buffets. Much better seafood in murrells inlet. Mr fish in Myrtle beach used to be really good but they moved to a bigger place and...
I live in a subdivision with fairly large wooded lots. I used to do a lot of duck hunting and would clean the ducks in the back yard and throw the scraps in the woods. I came home one day and the neighbor was in the corner of my yard with his dog. He walked over to tell me his story about the...
Thanks for the heads up. Picked one up last night. Costco prime briskets are the reason we picked up a Costco membership and are letting our sams membership expire. Even at the normal price of 3.99 it’s a better deal than the choice brisket at sams. They only had two left, a 13 pounder that...
sounds like a great opportunity to serve. I work for an electric coop and we’re still dealing with flooding from hurricane Florence so no way I can go but I’m curious about the logistics. Are volunteers on their own for accommodations?
I guess what you said could work now that I re-read it again. Not what I was picturing when you said twice baked potato. I may have to try it that way.
Theres a little bbq place in the upper part of South Carolina called Smokin pig that serves a loaded potato casserole that is phenomenal. Anybody have a recipe for something like that? It has potatoes, cheese and chives for sure. Not sure what else but it’s good stuff.
I like the Asian twist. May have to try that one. Also like the peach nectar idea. The wife doesn't like anything spicy and no vinegar so it limits my options.
