Paprika app. One of the few apps I’ve purchased but it’s well worth it. Browser download feature will download a recipe and strip out all the unnecessary blog junk that comes with most online recipes. Also has scale feature to increase/decrease servings. It’s a great app.
I'm ignorant to buying crawfish. I seem to remember there being a season for fresh crawfish. I normally travel to new orleans for business every couple years and it seems sometimes they're more prevalent but I can't remember when. What's the best time to order tail meat? Is there such a...
Anybody have any good pics of a tailgating setup with a pellet grill? I’ve got clearance from the better half to purchase a tailgating grill for football games. I like the idea of a pellet grill so it will cool off quicker than charcoal but I only have 25 inches of clearance when the bed cover...
That’s as good a recipe as I know of. We’ve used store bought runs from specialty places, home made rubs and even old bay blackened version and all of them are good. I think good blackened fish is more about technique than seasoning. We cook ours with a little oil or butter on a hot blackstone...
So I’m on a quest to figure out the perfect fish/shrimp tacos. We have the blackened fish or shrimp perfected but haven’t nailed the slaw or a sauce. We fish a lot and are fortunate to be able to catch our own fresh shrimp in the fall Love to have some good recipes with normal ingredients we...
I love paprika. Love that it strips all the nonsense off recipes when you download them. I don’t care for the blog stuff in recipes. Just get to it already. Paprika helps with that.
Lumberjack makes 100% hickory but I can’t find them locally. I was ordering them but shipping was crazy so I switched to cabelas 100% hickory and 100% mesquite.
Hey strange question. We're cooking 150 lbs of butts for an outreach event on Saturday. We'll be pulling them tonight, cooling them, bagging them and then re-heating on Saturday. The event is 6 hours away so there is zero way to cook on site. We normally mix sweet baby rays with some other...
Never thought about cleaning that probe but it makes sense. Guess I’ll start doing that. My smoke stack is rough but the probe looks remarkably good for never being cleaned. Grates get cleaned regularly and I vacuum it out every couple cooks. Just never thought to clean the probe.
Not smoke daddy related but Recteq related. We were buying lumberjack competition blend and weren’t happy with smokiness. Switched to cabelas brand hickory 100% pellets and still weren’t satisfied with smoke levels. I switched to cabelas 100% mesquite and several cooks in I can tell a big...
I can’t ever find the sale items at Kroger. I quit trying. It’s like they only put a couple out and sell out super fast. Not worth the drive for me anymore.
I use cabelas pellets at $9 per 20 lb bag. I’ve heard it’s the same as lumberjack but easier for me to get. Our local dicks Has lumberjack competition blend but I have to order 100% hickory. I can get the 100% hickory in cabelas brand. So far so good.
