Have you tried putting it in the MES and leaving the door ajar, just for testing purposes? My guess is that the AMNPS isn't getting enough oxygen to keep the pellets going. If it stays lit sitting outside the smoker, or inside with the door partly open, you will know the problem is not your...
Sounds like good advice from Bear. I'd love to do a whole piglet some day just for the experience, but I doubt that I'd be brave enough to try my first one for a big gathering. Gotta say though I kinda hope you do so we can see how it goes.
