Had to cut one of these down (couldn't move it without digging up concrete and moving the subfloor) and guess I will be using the wood to cook with. I wasn't sure I could but now I know. Thanks to the search bar!
We loved the tree and it was very beautiful. It was a sad day when I had to cut it...
If you were planning on using an oven to finish that is pretty much the same as what i was saying. That was all. I use a stick burner so I use all wood now but there was a time... I did look and have you thought about the use of Jack Fruit wood or maybe suar? They may be acceptable types of wood...
One idea if the oven is too small. You can use the crutch and finish off in the gas side of the grill. Find some way of extending the top rack out and put the outside burners on low. See if you can maintain something like 250 - 275 (I know a little hot but in a crutch this will work). I have...
Rain is a bummer. I have and do smoke in the rain but I need to put more fuel in the FB to keep temps. I had one smoke going and it was clear and fairly dry out then along came a cold rain. Dropped my temp by almost 30 degrees.. That is a bummer and a big scramble to deal with it. I use a pop up...
SQWIB that one fits me to a tee. I was going to buy a backwoods or a BGE but my GF asked me if I really wanted an EZ Bake Oven (No offense to owners of said pits). I had to think about it for a few days but the answer was NO. So I ponied up for a Lang 60. I love the whole process, the event, the...
No worries. I just checked and the store closest has these. I am pretty sure I will be making a run tonight. Probably just return the stufz when I get it.
Nice Fatty. I used thick cut on my first one as well. It was the same. Raw inside and overdone on the outside. Still this one looks like it turned out way better than my first!
Buggeritt I was just happy to have found this type of thing. I will check out Lowes although it is not close by and I am very aware you made the burgers. I think they are awesome looking and will be trying these out. So the masterforge has the metal parts as well as the plastic pieces? That is...
I imagine if you wash it off in hot soapy water that should be fine. I would be a bit concerned over the wax products as the residue is meant to coat and stay coated even through rain/sleet/snow. But even then soapy water *might* take that off. No clue. The difference between the car stuff and...
Nice write up. Personally I do like beans in my Chili but I also like it without. I always add a pound of bacon into my chili. An old ranch hand taught me that trick. It dissolves and adds to the taste. Chili for me is an all day long slow simmer cook and I soak my own beans the night before. I...
I was told when the delivery guy dropped off my Lang 60 that they were looking into making covers for them. Well I just pinged Lang and they are making prototypes now and said check back in a week or so. So if you have a Lang and would like a cover then your wait may be coming to an end.

First Timer. I usually do spray but I cook on a Lang and I recover from a lid opening very quickly. Most cookers loose too much heat to recover quickly and therefore the saying "if you're looking you aint cooking". Foiling will take away some of the crispy goodness of bark but you can recover...
Sweet. Just bought one and now I am anxiously waiting for it to arrive. Guess they have to ship it first.
Another question for you Brad. Did you use lamb and beef, lamb only, beef only what ratio ?? I was figuring I would try this with about 50/50 lamb and beef.
Thanks again!
Doug
