    Received my Yoder YS640

Thanks folks. After the chicken I've only had a chance to cook a couple of pizzas. My wife loves the flavor so much that she wants pizza again tonight. I've been trying to get the temp even in the chamber. I'm pretty close now. I'll test it again tonight before I throw the pizza on. I plan on...

New Yoder 640 on the way!

I just got mine a couple of days ago. The bottom shelf had a dent on it. I sent my contact at Yoder a pic, they responded the next day saying that a replacement shelf is on the way. I did the initial burn and seasoned. So far I love it. I need to play with the damper to get a uniform temp in the...

    Received my Yoder YS640

After much anticipation I finally received my YS640 on 10/2. I didn't have a chance to post on the forum until today (crazy busy). I was too excited , and wanted to get it on the deck. My brother and I (couple of big guys) lifted it off the pallet after removing one 2X4. I didn't want to unwrap...

    A-Maze-N-Tube and Yoder YS640

Hey everyone I just received my A-Maze-N-Tube yesterday. I plan on throwing it in my Yoder YS640 to add some additional smoke during the cook. I have a few questions: 1. I've heard that the tube works great at 225 degrees, but won't stay lit at higher temps (lack of oxygen) Is this true? 2...

    Problem Smoking Pork Chops

This happened to me too. It's due to flare ups or the chips are on fire instead of smoldering. I use a cast iron pie plate instead of the plate provided.

    Breaking in the YS640

I mainly want to find the hot zones and have a get to know you initial cook. I have a three pack of BB ribs in the freezer that I plan on smoking soon after. I've never smoked brisket (that will soon change). I like to start the chicken off at 225 for the first hour to hour and a half, then...

    Breaking in the YS640

A butt is a awful long smoke. I seasoned my masterbuilt duel-fuel smoker with a butt and had no clue what I was getting myself into.

I'm leaning towards bacon. I can find some pretty cheap.

    Breaking in the YS640

I already know about the initial burn (read the instructions 3 times now). I just wanted some ideas on seasoning the smoker. Sorry for the confusion. nickmv how long have you had your Yoder? Do you have any tips or tricks?

    Breaking in the YS640

Hello all I'm getting a new smoker Yoder YS640. I'm wondering what to smoke first. I've heard that cooking bacon on it first seasons the smoker. Is this true?

    Northern Illinois checking in

Hello All, My name is Robin H. I just started smoking meat this past spring 2013. I purchased a Masterbuilt combo gas/charcoal smoker from Home Depot. After a bit of trial and error I am finally able to successfully control the temp. My family loved the flavor of smoked meats so much that I've...
