Got the handle and latches on the top barrel mounted today. Ground down and cleaned up some of the welds. The end is finally in sight. Decided to paint instead of powder coat since funds are tight at the moment.
Nice job. Look forward to seeing how this works out for you after some cooks. I have access to some nice barrels once in a while and I love the build as much as the cooking.
Alright. Starting to make some progress. Got both barrels welded together, the intakes on and the exhaust on. Need to pick up one more pipe for the exhaust but the elbow is on. Next up handles and latches. Pudding for build to be done next Friday and paint next weekend.
Looks great. Well done. Yet another thing to add to my ridiculously long to try list. Only got my wife to try it once and that was when she was pregnant. She ate 2 plates but won't touch it since.
Looks like your off to a good start with your plan. I believe that black steel pipe will thread into the bung in the lid of the drum for an exhaust. Make sure to get a cap with it so you can snuff out the coals when your done.
