    Where do you get your lube?????

    I use the same stuff or food grade silicone grease for the spot where the worm presses on the bushing. You can buy the food grade silicone spray lube from cabela's too. Just be sure to wash off whatever you use before using your grinder.

    I get expanded metal at a local welding shop, for a little extra they even cut it to size for me. That's the only place I know where you can buy metal in my town. Maybe in a bigger town they have welding supply or metal supply stores that would have the stuff. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

    Great smoke ring on the burgers. I think you are right about the air leaks, seal it up and I think you will have the temp problem solved after you build a baffle between the firebox and the smoke box. Great looking mods so far.

    I had tough casings on one batch that I recently made. The next batch (from the same package) I rinsed in warm water and they were not as tough but were still tougher than I like, I will try the vinegar like the previous post said. Keep trying, it is worth the work when the sausage comes out...
