I think, just for ol' Bob, we need a new forum called "Complaint Box". That way we can read the "complaint", post a few replies, then when one of the Head Moderators come by to check why the "Complaint Forum" is so busy, they can just delete all the BS that has piled up.

You said the flat was dry? Next time try either leaving about a 1/4 inch of the fat on and slicing groves, in a criss cross pattern into the fat cap about 1 inch apart (to let the smoke get into the meat).
Or, do like I do and trim off all the fat, like you did, and...
I keep mine in a metal "ash bucket" and when it gets full, I add to my garden. Ash = good fertilizer... just as long as it's just lump or wood ash. Wouldn't recommend it if you use a lot of lighter fluid.
That's just great!!! As you can see by my name, I've had to deal with a few Veggies and one VEGAN!!! Watch out for them Vegans! They wont eat ANYTHING that has ANY kind of animal by-product in it. Some wont even eat processed foods!

Well see, you are using the 2 most importaint tools for ABT cooking, a controlled open fire and wood chips. Can't really put wood chips in an oven. Unless you REALLY like the smell of burning wood in your home! Some of may but the other half, I'm sure wouldn't approve!
