Thanks to all for the replies. Yes, def need to get the eye out for vaccuum machine. Friend of mine cooks comp BBQ and use it all the time. Reheat in hot water and meat comes out like it is right off the smoker...damn this expensive hobby...LOL

Thinkin bout fatties...aren't we all!! What does everyone think bout long-term (week to a month) storage. Obviously, best right off the grill, but would be nice to make a few at a time and not have to gorge for 48 hours straight..

While I know barrel diameter is key, what brands "typically" fit as lid for UDS. That way i'll know what to look for on craigs list, etc.
Saw generic 22.5 in grill and big lots today for $29 almost grabbed, but was unsure.

After so much procrastination and life in general, I went today and bought a barrel. Food Grade, $10 with no lid; $15 if you wanted one with a lid. I have place pics of "Barrel Heaven" in Northwest Arkansas and also my new "baby" under construction. I have a couple of questions:

For other jobs, I have used a "porcelain" based touch up paint used to touch un inside/outside of washing machine. Can be had at appliance repair shops and have also found it at Lowe's. Should do what you want.
I agree with the Wiki moderator person with the senior "members" providing guidance on namimg conventions i.e.
Beef - Marinades; Pork - Ribs; Smokers - UDS etc.
I would even be tempted to volunteer my time as a NOOB happy to pay his "dues" for all the info I have already.
