"Never worked up the courage to try a balut." Well, having been there and done that, I can say you haven't missed a lot. Once, on a dare, was enough.

The Red River Gets New Life

We ran a trot line towards the island starting at the bend of the dam. Had 100 hooks and always had fish. Wish I was there to go with you. I saw the spillway go over twice and you could see whole schools of fish go over headed down river. Lots of stories I can tell about the lake, I really miss it.

The Red River Gets New Life

I fished below the dam before dad bought a boat. One day the guys below us started yelling about a ugly fish. We went down to take a look, it was ugly and everyone was afraid to touch it. It was cut loose and kicked back in the river. Months later I was thumbing thru the dictionary and came...

How Do I Get Rid of These Armadillos?!!

Dillers (aka Texas speed bumps) can inflict a nasty slap with their tails if cornered and you get close enough. They will emit a nasty smell when scared. To get rid of their food source in the yard, you can use regular weed and feed and water it in. Also will keep moles out of the yard

    Cast iron brands

I agree with whistlepig. Brand really doesn't matter as long as you know how to season it. I have a no brand that nothing sticks to it. Don't get stuck up on brand

    Anyone Know About Ham Radios??

Back in the day, those were known as "short wave radios", all they do is receive, no transmit. Seeing as how it probably hasn't been used in a number of years, the capacitors in them dry out and when you throw a full power load to them, they have a tendency to let the smoke out (aka blow up)...

MES 30 smoker not smoking... Not looking to do mailbox mod.

I use a smoke tube in my MES 30. I added some U bolts to set it on an angle of about 45 degrees on the left side of the smoker. I open the chip loader about half way to get a good draft and get a good 4 hours plus of smoke
