Thanks! She saw it when she came home from work last night and liked it. Told her what I gave for it and with the sale of the other smoker I won't be too far over what we previously agreed to budget for it in the first place.
Shes cool with it all, as so far I've been able to produce...
Sorry to hear you did not fare as well with your particular store, but you were able to find a good alternative so it worked out after all.
I too went to lowes and the lady in the appliance section advised that they do not make 3" flex anymore. Everything's goin to 4". I explained what I...
Another vote for that! Once I showed her where they ended up and why, she seemed to understand, and now adds that to just another thing shes gotta deal with
Funny thing is she mentioned to her co-workers how I got into this and snap pics then scurry inside to upload the pics throughout the...
Thanks for posting this! I love kebabs, but never had much success with grilling then. I remember that episode, and liked his kebab setup, where he has a shallow trench lined with sand and bricks around the edge. Toss in some charcoal and go from there. Seems like a better way to do 'em too.
I had posted a reply before realizing you explained the prep you did (note to self: reading is fundamental) Didn't edit as quick as I thought.
Recipe noted. Thanks.
Good stuff for a first time
Ever since I was a kid I was hooked on blue diamond smoked almonds. Curious, how 'smokey' were they? Might wanna try this myself sometime.
Indeed. I owe plenty to everyone here from their valuable insight to the qview As I said before, I thought my 'old' rig would be big enough for what I figured it would be used for. Until I started using it!
Just checked the Lang site. I'm gonna need to get really proficient with this and...
Glad it arrived ok. The chili fixins is from a 'mom and pop' operation in Mazatlan Mexico. Just 1 of the 2 packets will do wonders for about a gallon of chili with just a lil bite. Hope ya like it
I started into this by looking online, and with what the missus was ok with me spending I had figured between a chargriller (which I noticed several here were using) a vertical chest (no specific make) and the one I settled on cabelas/masterbuilt 7n1.
I had thought the 7n1 would offer more...
After reading input from others in this thread, and seeing how many here have one, I went and got mine.
Went to Lowes and scored a "super pro" and got the SFB as well. The box says 'new improved easier to assemble.' I'd hate to see the previous way, cause this was somewhat a pain from the...
Welcome to SMF LGHT! Good luck in the final choice. I had considered all types within my "allowance" from the missus, and now wish I had gone with one of my other options in the first place.
Sounds like ya got enough for the smoker, a fine smoke and a pallet of charcoal to get ya started.
Thanks for the replies so far. This is what I'm looking to read. Please keep it coming!
The mods seem fair enough, and noted for when need be. Just got a good thermo for the meat, but one for grate level temps can be had soon as well.
Thats sounding better already. My current setup seems...
First off I want to say, my current cabelas-masterbuilt 7n1 smoker produces good results but I've come to the conclusion it lacks in a few areas. I figured it would do just fine before I found out how addicting this all is and that if I want to feed more than me and the missus, its too small...
I've gone with whats called for in the OP with a 7.5# butt and it seems to be enough. I would think doubling would be fine for 2 butts. Just make a bit more than what ya think is enough and adjust to taste. Any leftover sauce can wait till the next smoke.
