I had the same stuff, it's a real pita. Yes, get it all off. It's worth doing it right the first time. It's probably stuff that doesn't react to heat very well. I used a putty knife to scrape most of it. I then used a rag soaked in kerosene to wipe it down. The kerosene dissolved it pretty...
Sorry to here about that. Your element looks like the same one I have. 1500 watts on 110 volts I'm guessing. If you want to stay with 110 volts then you might want to check at Grainger. They have an 1800 watt element that runs off of 110. I think it was like 75 or 80 bucks. You would need to buy...
Guys I need some advice. I have several excellent poblano plants that I want to overwinter. I have cut them back some already but I'm pretty sure they need some more. Thing is I don't know how far is safe. I'm not interested in getting more peppers this year. I just want to save the plant. Here...
Hmm, that is strange. Oh well you still got yourself a real nice smoker. I really like your heat shield. I have that same heating element. I might look into setting mine up like that.
One thing to keep an eye on is how you attach your stove rope. I have a freezer build and my inside door panel...
You got it looking good. One thought on your back piece that you said wouldn't. Clean up really good. Take your grinder and put on a flap pad and just sand it down. The pad would end up putting a new brushed surface on the stainless. It only a cosmetic issue and don't matter either way just I...
I would like to clarify my original post. I didn't notice there were two grinders being discussed. I own the Turbo STX 3000. My comments are referring to that grinder. I highly recommend it.
Yep, I've owned it for about a year now. I am very happy with it. Buy a can of food grade silicone spray and spray the blades and plates when you store them. Follow the instructions, don't put the aluminum part in the dishwasher and you will be happy.
I sure hate to read that, I just put an order to butcher and packer. I ordered several Hi Mountain Jerky kits and the B&P beef snack stick kits and the salami snack kit. Which have your ordered in the past? I know you said that you changed things up a little this time. Just wondering what I...
Like most of the others have already stated. It's a matter of Temperature and time . You need to know the temp.. It would probably be a good idea to invest in a maverick or some other dependable thermometer it will eliminate the uncertainty of temp. Then it is only a matter of time. To quote...
Nice job on the cheese. Like others have said some top and bottom holes will help reduce moisture dramatically. I'm guessing you probably noticed some streaking of color due to moisture. Again , that's a nice batch of cheese. Congrats
Here is finished product after all night in the Nesco.
Here they are in their storage jars. The cayenne peppers are from a few weeks ago. Still have a lot more of those do yet.
All in all everything turned out great, it was a lot easier than I thought it would. For the next batch I will...
