I have looked on amazon and ebay and haven't found smoker elements any that are dual voltage or 240v unfortunately. I have transformers to step down our US electronic stuff but anything with a heating element tend to have a shorter working life.
Another update, the hot plate hasn't panned out. I can't get enough heat.I checked with an electrician to see how much it would cost to wire up an outdoor outlet with buried cable where I dug the trench and he quoted me at £185. Which was the almost cost of the shed. Out of my budget.
