    Sunday Ribs

Unfortunately mine were too dry. Because it took me longer to get them on and I had to go out from 2:00 to 4:00 I needed to wrap them right at 2:00 so once I got them on at 12:00 I set the temp at 250. Wrapped them with some apple juice and dropped the temp to 225 at 14:00. Put them back on...

    Sunday Ribs

Ribs are on! Albeit 30 mins behind schedule. I didn't do a proper preheat of the grill so it was fighting to hold the temp. Once I realized my mistake I did the proper preheat, dropped the temp back down and it settled right in. Live and learn.  Its fairly windy so I've put up a couple boards...

    Sunday Ribs

I use the 3-2-1 method at 225. A little apple juice when I wrap and then sauce during the last hour and take em off when they're ready. This is the first batch of ribs on my new pellet smoker so I'll be keeping a close eye on them while I get familiar with the temps. I'm used to doing them on my...

    Sunday Ribs

4 racks of ribs rubbed and resting for the night. I'll put them on at 225 around 1130 tomorrow. 2 racks have Wally's dry rub and 2 racks have CC Ryder rub. I used a mustard base. More to come tomorrow. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Who Makes the Best Pellet?

I would agree with the others, really depends on your setup, location and preference. Price also has a a lot to do with it. I'm using LG competition mix and they've been great so far (although I've only used my grill 4 times thus far). They're a blend of hickory, cherry and maple and they are...

    LG700 Temp Probe Questions

Decided to do a biscuit test on my LG700 that I picked up last weekend before I do a big cook of ribs tomorrow. Set the grill at 275 and left it to settle in for a while and it held the temp perfectly but my lid thermo read a steady 320. I know it's normal for the lid to read higher than the...

    New Louisiana Grills LG700 Owner

Did some wings tonight. Smoked at 250 for an hour then turned it up to 375 for 20 min. Tossed some in some Lemon Pepper and the rest in Frank's, vinegar and butter. We were fighting over the last one.

That's some serious snow! Truth be told I did use it both days last weekend after picking it up but it was just to grill sausages one night and burgers the next. The grill ran great even in those temps. I'm doing ribs this weekend no matter what the weather! And I'll post some q view as well.

    New Louisiana Grills LG700 Owner

I've been on the hunt for a pellet grill with the direct grill capability and came across a good deal on a floor model LG700 that had been used once. Got front and side shelves and a 40lb bag of pellets thrown in and a good price on a cover. Can't wait to do some real BBQ when it warms up a...

Pellet Smoker as a grill to?

I'm leaning more towards an LG700. Got a line on a one-time-use demo from a local dealer and he's giving me a great price and including front and side shelves as well. Hoping to go see it this weekend.

    Louisiana Grills LG900 Pellet Smoker

Lol, thanks for looking beyond the logo and for the quick response. I will check with my local HH and see if they are carrying them, I have one in Okotoks and I think Airdrie too.  I've heard the common theme about reducing the temp too quickly so its good to be aware of. An A-Maze-N was...

    Louisiana Grills LG900 Pellet Smoker

Disco, Any new feedback a couple months further down the road? I'm considering the CS570. Was leaning to a Masterbuilt Electric but have decided to go right to the pellet for the same reasons you described. I've been using a Brinkman ECB for a couple years. I'm in Calgary and see that you're a...

Pellet Smoker as a grill to?

That is a good looking grill. I little out if my price range though I'm afraid. I'm looking to stay in the $1k or less area.

Pellet Smoker as a grill to?

I'm in the same boat as you, looking for pellet grill to do smoking and grilling. What are your thoughts on Louisiana Grills? I'm looking at the CS570. Certainly not up in the price range of the Rec Tec but better than most of the units in the big box stores.
