    Playin with fire

Nice looking bird.  I struggle with chicken/turkey.  I usually get no ring or smoke flavoring, but a very tasty bird.  Or, I get a great ring and smoke flavor, but one tough dried out bird.

    Playin with fire

Thanks all! This Saturday is the real smoking test.  I will be putting on a brisket and boston pork butt for the Superbowl Sunday crowd for a long slow smoke. I do have one question, has anyone notice a shortage of oak?  All my usual big box places either have bare shelves or don't even have a...

    Playin with fire

Thanks.   I usually do the 225 as well, but this particular recipe called for 325, which more grilling than smoking temp, and since I was just playing with the new toy I figured I would give it a try.  Oh, and that is my sentry Annie keeping the neighbors out of the smoker! try.

    Playin with fire

After playing with my new Smoke-EZ on the Weber, it is time to stop practicing and start playing... The first attempt was with a whole chicken and pork tender loin.  I didn't get the smoke ring I wanted, but I think that was because the recipe called for 325, which really isn't a smoking temp...

Weber 26.75inch OTG and Smoke Ez

All, I am the new owner of the Smoke Ez for my 27 inch for my Weber kettle OTG.  The challenge is that I am having a hard time finding cooking grates for the Smoke EZ (it doesn''t come with a set).  I thought it would be easy to find a set, given that fits a Weber, but I was mistaken, so don't...

    "T" style smoker

All, Just a disclosure, I have no connection to the company in the link I supplied.  I added it so that you could see a picture of the type of smoker. I apologize to any and all that mistook it as an attempt by me to promote any particular product company. Tim

    "T" style smoker

Can someone provide me with feedback on these types of smokers?   I have the usual assortment of horizontal w/offset firebox, propane vertical, weber, and a vertical w/offset firebox, but a guy always has to have a new toy...

    New

Hello everyone, I'm Tim and I have an addiction...  I have four or five different smokers and while none of them are much to get excited about, if you want to do a job right you must use the right tool.  Yes, I even have a Bandera that isn't rusted out.  While I am always on the lookout for a...

    Maverick Model ET-732

Sorry, I haven't had a chance to do the roll call yet. I got it from Maverick, so I called and they are sending a replacement.  From a customer satisfaction stand point, they are good.  However, from what I have read they seem to have an issue with reliability on the probes that needs to be...

    Maverick Model ET-732

So far not impressed.  I just got mine and the food probe isn't working.  Nothing worse than getting a product and not having work right out of the box.  :(
