Thank you Sir!
Thanks Brother! I'm sure I could have posted it on Craigslist or Marketplace and sold it for more money, but I decided when I sold the first one to Ryan that I didn't care about making a profit off of a forum buddy. I'm happy seeing it go to another SMF member...and getting my...
Heck yeah! No question about a man's priorities when his kids are small. It's been a long time for me - our youngest is 36. We do enjoy spoiling our grandsons though!
It's awesome that your son loves to cook out with his Dad! Those experiences are worth way more than any smoker for sure...
Now Ryan - if I wanted my wife to know I had more time for her chores, I'd tell her myself! And you can trust me when I tell ya that she's a cure for a swelled head...she seems to have the knack of making certain I don't get too full of myself :emoji_laughing:
I really appreciate it Tom! I...
Yep you were right Keith! I was pretty surprised though...
Hey Adam thanks brother. I'm hoping to see lots of his cooks too!
Thanks Jim! Sure means a lot coming from you! And I'm very happy it'll be used by another SMF Brother!
Thank you Sir!
Thanks Jim! Lol the only time I'm...
Thank you Keith, that means a lot. I sure hope someone here on the forums ends up owing it. It's sure fun to see friends cooking on something I built.

Hey I'm a southerner! I make no claims about liking snowstorms...and I sure don't want to drive through one lol! Not that...
Thanks Brother! I'm hopeful that folks will see it as a lot of cooker for the price, and it sells quickly.
Appreciate it Keith! And if your working on something that cooks, I'll be waiting to see a build thread!
The ash pan doesn't have it's own rails - it just pushes in and sits on the...
This is a new build. I've built fires in it twice - to do a test cook and to season it. I really hate to part with it, but as I said in the build thread, I just don't have room to store another cooker...so something has to go (I'll also be advertising my big gravity feed smoker, and I'll sell...
I finally have pics of the finished smoker! I have to admit that I've procrastinated a little - mostly because painting is my least favorite part of the whole smoker building process. But I prefer the look of a painted pit over the rustic bare metal look...so I finally got around to prepping...
Always nice to get compliments from others on your cooking Jim! Looks like it was a feast for sure! I sure do enjoy watching you cook on that smoker! :emoji_thumbsup:

Hello @Elf@shore. Thank you very much for all the kind words!
Why a direct heat cooker? I really chose to build this one for only one reason: I had been seeing some guys cooking on cookers like the Chud Box and the Hasty Bake Roughneck...and was intrigued by the design and with that style...
Good news for sure, David!
Now if memory serves, didn't you say this was a skiing accident? And it was your second bad accident on skis? Might be time to stay off the Diamond slopes LOL!! :emoji_wink::emoji_laughing:

Like others already suggested, I'd definitely recommend the OK Joe offset for that price. The gasser, I did one of those years ago and didn't care for it much. Always fought to keep the temps down, and the smoke tray that held wood chips, the chips would just burn up in 2 minutes, so I was...
Sounds like it's been a rough few weeks for your daughter Justin...but sure glad to hear she's doing better! That pulled pork is spot-on, Brother! Very nicely done my friend!

I'm maybe a 2 1/2 hour drive to OKC, so I don't get down there too often. But this place has been on my bucket list for a while! Definitely planning to visit the next time I'm in the City.
