    Craig's List Fun, scams

I have never got any more spams than I usually get after acknowledging these ads.  But then again, when I reply to these I use a junk account that I use for this stuff and general sign up sites.

    Pitmasters Finale Tonight

Most of the episodes this season sucked, I thought the finally was pretty good.  They actually spent some time and talked about cooking.  I know that is the only reason I watch it.  I want to learn something and most of the shows they don't even attempt to give you and How To stuff.  But I...

    Craig's List Fun, scams

I have tried that and they get all pissy and quit talking to me.  This last one I told her I would send her a cashiers check for triple the amount, I would just need her to cash it and give 90% of the balance to my cousin who lives in the area that the item is being sold. That is a real old scam...

    Craig's List Fun, scams

If you are a frequent CL watcher then I am sure you see those scams all over the place with a pretty new ATV, Camper, Car or anything expensive that is listed for a 1/4 of the retail price.  It's always listed in your area, but when you reply to the ad the item is sitting in a shipping yard in...

I have the same slack in mine and adjust the same way.  Just stop as soon as you feel it move a hair.

First use - Smoke Vault 24"..........had some issues, could use some input (w/ pics)

Those pics look pretty good.  Although I can't remember mine ever being that clean.  I would be concerned about that burst of yellow flame though.

First use - Smoke Vault 24"..........had some issues, could use some input (w/ pics)

Without a stack, you won't get a real draft.  The smoke will come out of everywhere.  Thats not a big deal.  The adjustment on these are very sensitive.  turn that dial just the slightest amount and the temp will move.  Also put a digital in the rack in the middle of the smoker and see what your...

First use - Smoke Vault 24"..........had some issues, could use some input (w/ pics)

Not sure what a needle valve will do with this smoker.  The flame control on it will put the flame anywhere you want it as it is.  Bailey, try moving the chip pan all the way down on top of the flame.  But the way it sounds, something is up with your temps.  With the chip pan in the stock...

First use - Smoke Vault 24"..........had some issues, could use some input (w/ pics)

You shouldn't have any problems getting smoke at temps of 250-260 with everything where it is supposed to be.  Only time I have had problems with not getting smoke is with temps around 200 or lower and then I just to the chip pan and put it right on the very bottom of the smoker pretty much...

Anyone used a wood stove for a firebox?

If it is a plate steel wood burner then I don't see why it wouldn't work.  The problem with the cast iron ones is welding.  You can weld it but the weld joints are weak and fragile.  If its big enough then use it.  I have been looking for the same thing to use on my next build. I saw this in...

    My first smoker.... stainless

This guy is going to get me in trouble.  I keep catching myself looking online at tig welders.  I have used them before and always wanted one, not I just got to have one.  hmmm, new tig or divorce.   I can't make up my mind.

    Recent Firebox Mods w/ Pics

Lookin good.  I don't think you will get much ash falling out of that basket tho.  That mesh is pretty small and I think it will hold most of the ash.

That thing is insane!  Can you give details on the smoke generator.  I don't know much about those and am very interested. I can't even imagine how much something like this would cost retail.  I bet you could sell a couple of these for some real good coin if you really wanted to.

    RF question

Sounds like a heck of a plan.  I assume the Viking let wood or charcoal cookers for tailgating?  I heard places are starting to outlaw that because of the fire danger.  For the colors, you can find high temp paints for automotive in various colors.

REVERSE FLOW BUILD, FIRST TIME TO BUILD HELP!!!!!

Just remember, on smoker builds, the thicker the better.  Thick means more insulation/heat retention, thin mean heat loss.  So a 3/8" wall chamber is real good. Try and keep your RF plate a few inches under your cooking grate and try and keep your opening for you firebox a few inches under your...
