    The Best Hangover Cure!

I've been brewing my own since 1994. If I drink too much I just drink tepid water before bedtime and wake up fine. I haven't had a hangover (or any AB product since 1975). That's when I did my first tour in Germany and found out what real beer tastes like.

    Beer Kegerator

Ah, that's for 5 liter mini-kegs. I used to have dozens of them back in the 90s. I also brought back a couple dozen (full with beer) from Germany when I came back to the States in 2004. I still have a couple with 10 year old cider in them. My kegerator has 2 5 gal kegs on tap. My keezer has...

    Root beer brewing

I've "supervised" making Root Beer (from a mix) with 6 of my 7 great grandkids (one lives out of state). We made the last batch just before Thanksgiving with a GG-son (his 2nd time) and the son of my granddaughter's boyfriend (who was taking pictures). They had fun. It's always worth it. I...

New to ribs, first time doing spare ribs

Ribs looked tasty. I used to add 1/4 C of AJ, honey and brown sugar to the foil, but I stopped using the AJ. Not needed.

    dry rub ribs soggy?????

When I foil ribs I just use honey and brown sugar (stopped using AJ). When they are done I make a glaze out of the juices with a little BBQ sauce and put them on the grill to caramelize.

    Dry butt

I agree, it sounds like a probe issue. I take mine to 207F and rest for at least 2 hours. I've never had a mushy butt (pork that is, not mine...).

    Something a little different

You added sweetener? Did you use Potassium Sorbate to make the yeast go dormant before you added it? If not, the yeast will ferment that out too. That's the cause of many exploding bottles. Also, did you use Campden tablets, yeast energizer/yeast nutrients, or degas it along the way? I've...

    First time smoking hamburgers

I really liked smoked burgers. FWIW, I smoke SPAM too. I slice a wad into 8 slices and add rub to each slice. I run 2 wood skewers through them and gap them before placing them on the grate. The skewers keep them together pretty good.

Favorite beer while smoking and/or eating BBQ?

99% of the beer I drink is something I've brewed. I usually keep 4-6 brews on tap at all times. When I smoke I usually tend to stay on the lighter side (under 5%) of a Pale Ale. What I drink depends on my mood that morning...yes, I can drink before sunrise...I'm retired. :emoji_blush:

    wsm - cold smoke modifications

Try Good Will. Every once in a while they'll have a large piece of stainless steel (larger than cookie sheet size) or aluminum cookie sheets come in. You can make a door out of them just for cold smoking.
