Yup! Came across some chuck-eyes at a local store and bought up about 6 packs (12 steaks). Injected this morning and will be throwing on the smoker later on before grilling.
I love this place. Totally changing my way of thinking when it comes to cooking/grilling/smoking...
You can soak, but I think that would just prolong how long it takes for them to start smoking, not the overall smoking time.
Could always try some dry in one can for initial smoke and soaked in another for a delayed start to the smoking... *shrug*
I'm sure there are others who could help you...

Man Ron, ya just made my day! Going to forego the mopping/spritzing today now, since it still appears to come out great!
I'm not sure if I'll skip the foiling or not, but still have a ways to go to worry about that one.

Hopefully someone will be able to dress it up more... maybe get a more fitting icon for the center...

LOL... not a problem... I'm having a blast with this - especially the experimentation. And the best part is, you get to eat what you make! Much better than other hobbies I've had in the past!
Even got my mother-in-law ("I don't like anything smoked") hooked on the results. Jeanine's...
I decided to try a brisket on Saturday. Nothing went really as planned, but it still came out tasty.
I had planned on searing and then rubbing, but discovered that my grill appears to be incapable of generating a hot enough heal/flame to sear (has, or rather had , a big ol' heat dispersing...
Grew up on a similar dish, but without pancakes. Had 'puffballs' (soft drop biscuits, I believe) dropped into liquid when it was in the pan.
I'll have to see if I can find my grandma's recipe now... LOL
You could always unfoil towards the end (maybe last 5-10 degrees before pulling) to firm the bark back up some.
Play around with it until you find something that you're happy with!
LOL... I'm thinking about using it for a mop for ribs next week... but I did have to taste it. Had a slight, but very identifiable taste of the fresh jalapenos and just the slightest hint of heat...
Could lead to some interesting margaritas tho...
