    Crazy Wind - 65-80 Mph tossing semi’s today….

    The pub I was in last night had one TV screen set to the Weather Channel. It was showing footage of an area next to a lake (I think it was in Colorado), and the pine trees were falling over like dominoes due to the wind. One after another in real time. One of the most bizzare things I've ever seen.

    I bought a small NY striploin roast at Safeway yesterday for $6.97 lb. I usually use an Umai bag to dry age these 30 days, and then cut it up into steaks. Today our Fred Meyer (Kroger owned) has Choice Ribeye roasts for $7.77 lb. with a digital coupon, no $ threshold. Weekly Digital Deal...

    I was making a lemon cheesecake the other day, and make some candied lemon peel to top it with. After I boiled the peels in water, then simple syrup, I was about to toss the syrup out when SKREEECH!, what am I doing? I can use this in my Whiskey Sours and Old Fashioneds! Break out the 1792...

    What a princess.

    My friend owns a dog-friendly pub. In the winter he turns on the electric, fake fireplace, and all the dogs lay down in front of it with their butts directed toward the heat. I'll have to get a pic of it next time.

    I went to Cabela's (nee Pro Bass Shop) a few years ago with a couple rifles. I had a good idea of their worth from scanning other sources and retailers. They offered me less than half of their true value. I passed also.

    What are you watching ?

    Prime offered a 1-episode teaser of Pluribus, by Vince Gilligan (the same guy who made Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.) Also stars Rhea Seahorn, from Better Call Saul. Looks really good, but I'd have to subscribe to Apple-TV to see the rest of it. That ain't happening.

    I saw this once at the Calgary Stampede Rodeo, around 1969. Except, instead of children, the riders were monkeys wearing small cowboy hats. My guess is, it was deemed too dangerous for the monkeys.

    Cold Weather Pellet Smoking

    I used an insulation blanket when I had my GMG that had a chimney. Worked fine. Now I have a Recteq Backyard Beast with the vents in the back of the chamber. Too windy today to fire it up, but I'm hoping it'll be alright in the cold. Rarely gets below 25°F here, even in the dead of Winter.

    Had a snow storm come through today

    No snow yet in the lowlands of the PNW, but we're at the beginning of an "atmospheric river" that's supposed to dump up to 6" of rain in the few days. All in all, I'd rather have the rain than the snow. At least I can drive my Challenger in the rain.
