Masterbuilt Extra Wide Propane Smoker trouble keeping burner flame on a low setting (windy day)
thanks a lot, I saw a thermal wrap at my local BBQ store a few weeks back. The store is run by some competition BBQ guys and they say it is used to hold temp, kinda like a blanket in winter. Wonder if that would help.- jd2220

I will give sand a try, do you use just sand from a sandbag like the ones we use in winter to weigh down rear of pick up trucks? Also, I have used large water pan because of concerns over drying out meats. Thanks for input -

I am new to smoking and this forum. I have a MasterBuilt Extra Wide Propane smoker similar to this one. I currently use an old cast iron skillet over the flame as a wood chip box and then a baking pan as a water pan and drip tray directly above it. Is that a pizza stone? Also can you explain...- jd2220
