I used a high temp engine block primer first, I purchased it from an auto parts store. Then I sprayed it with a high temp flat black rustoleum paint from Lowes, it's going on about 3 years now and still holding up fine. I did however rub it down with WD40 after the original coat of flat black...

I used Dave's idea on my build, for my heat shield it worked amazing. I was able to get an even temp all the way across my CC. Ended up with only about a 4 degree difference from right side to left side.
