Air flow is highest thru a round pipe. Any time you use rectangular you add friction loss. Add roughly 15 - 20% to the round stack length and it'll be close enough.

There is a design called a Center Feed (CF). The FB can be under or behind and the baffle plate openings to the cook chamber is on either side with the stack in the center.
