Sorry to hear about your troubles, man! I just bought a GOSM, and luckily it had all the bits and pieces, so I hope I don't have to deal with them! Like others suggested, you might want to just suck it up at this point and get a replacement pan of some sorts so you can get smoking! It sucks, but...
That's my exact thinking for Monday! I had the wife nab a couple of rolls from the store yesterday for a fatty, but I was thinking about saving a little bit to try out some ABTs too! I can already tell this isn't going to end well for me :)
Thanks for the heads up on that. I was just looking into how to do that when I came back here and saw your reply. I'm thinking just coat the inside w/ oil and let it run for a while with some wood in the box and water in the pan?
EDIT - Actually, I looked around and found that I should clean...
Thanks for the welcome! I've been digging around the site a little more and found someone mentioning 160 as being ideal for a fatty. I'm dying to try it! Should be plenty of Q-view too... I'm something of an amateur photographer, so smoking the meat will be just as fun as documenting it!
Aaah thanks for the info! I can't wait to try one!!! On one hand I'm disappointed that I won't get to do it this weekend, but on the other hand, I'll be at the lake, so it's all good :) I guess I need to pick up a smoker for down there too, huh?
I was going to say Stella as well. It's also the perfect beer to go with hot wings too! Like it was mentioned back at the beginning of this thread, if I know I'm going to do some serious eating, it's Miller Lite or something cheap, because I'll be downing a ton of it!
Hi all! I got tired of watching my neighbor turn out some incredible meats with his little electric smoker, so I've been browsing around here and took the plunge on the GOSM (wide-body version). I just got it assembled last night and unfortunately I won't be in town this weekend to try it out...
Wow! Perfect looking ribs and that fatty looks amazing! I just got my first smoker and I'm dying to clog my arteries with a fatty like that!!! I haven't looked around too much, but so far I don't see a recipe or any info on smoking a fatty. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
