That is some good looking loin meat! Don't see much marbling on commercial pork these days so I am guessing it is not!
My name is Bill and I too am a dry briner.
Nice work!
100% RT. 4-5 hours depending on thickness and you got some real deal jerky.
I have an RT-700 low setting is 180. I imagine ES is that or lower.
I would run the whole batch at ES until finished.
Dehydrator is fine too but then I would add liquid smoke. Some folks don't take kindly to it but it...
I can smell that sweet and sour. That first pic with the red and green onions, the peppers and then the smell of the pineapple you know what's coming.
Nice work and write up!
I think the both of you are gonna love it!
Christmas is for the kids and without them it is just not as great.
This song just dropped recently so I hope it is ok to post.
You are very industrious!
I am a west coaster so have never had it but it looks great.
Have never seen the ham press either so that is something to chew on!
Thanks.
Here in the Great Northwest they run $1.48 to 1.99.
On the rare occasion $.99.
Costco carries Swift products so that is a no go for me.
We have a US Chef that carries Chairman's Reserve that I think the flavor is superior.
I think Reynolds oven bags would work for a bucket liner as well.
I do the bucket in the cooler with ice on the back porch also as my fridge does not have the room!
Gravy baby, it's all about the gravy!
Well at least it is going to be!
I was never a real picky eater so I liked it all as a kid.
Now a few (hundred) years later I too will skip any candied yams and over cooked green
beans.
Is it too early for a turkey sammy?
Al, I have the RT-700 and run it at 180 for full smoke. For good bark and smoke it is the way to go (for at least half the cook). For ribs it dries out the edges a bit because of the extra air flow and time to cook so a go 250-275 for those.
Let er rip!
Hey @smokingEdge. I too grew up with the green label.
It shows available in my area of Western Washington.
