Hang on to your hat if your buying new steel.
I just bought a 4x10 sheet of 16 gauge sheet at Metal by the foot. 140 bucks. Now thats a little high since they are a (we got it, you want it, so you pay what ever we want) kinda store.
From one of the bulk suppliers I believe the price was...
Good one Paul!!!
I think you got a smokin deal. No pun intended.
As far as why it was so cheep, man times are tough right now. A few years back my buddy had to sell his Lincoln pipeliner shorthood for 1200 bucks. He didnt have time to wait for a better dollar so he took what he could get. Paid...

The calc numbers are a low end base to go from. So if it says you need 78 sq in and you were to end up with 90, its not going to hurt ya. You can always...
Awesome build.
It really sucks having to wait all that time to build again. Wishing you well, and hoping you make it thru this rough time.
The smoker gods are gonna be with ya for sure on this build.
Nice work.
My vote is that even if you get hooked up with a mes or a propane rig, that you still put together a drum smoker. They are cheap to build for the most part and the flavor is unmatched in my book. The down side is there is more tending then with the other two mentioned.
