Price Check- Propane 20lb tank exchange or refill in your area.

Depending on the place, between $17 and $20. Used to have a boss who had a side business selling propane for heating, he'd fill them up free of charge. Friends would get them filled for $5. The only problem with that was that it might take several days to get them back.

My Wife just laughs at me.......

My wife would always laugh at me too when I was looking at SMF. That is until I left it up on a big q-view of somebody elses, and then she started drooling over it, and requested I make it. Since then she watches over my shoulder and tells me what looks good. I don't do the q-view most of the...

RF Trailer Build Starting, it's getting close.

Do you plan on leaving this hooked up to your truck while you are cooking?  I'm just curious because of the question about having table space. I would wonder about having a hinged table that would cover your toolbox and wood storage, and flip forward when in use to cover over the tongue area...

    growing taters

Hay and straw are two different things. Hay is for feed, and contains the whole plant of grasses, alfalfa, or other leafy plants. Straw is the remains of plants such as wheat or barley that has been harvested, taking the seeds away, and leaving just the plant stems. Works great as bedding, or mulch.

    growing taters

Never had a problem with that in all the straw we bale. (Some years 600 or more bales). As long as the fields are clean, and the combine is properly adjusted, weed seeds should not be present. We can take a bale out, and stick in the sun, and water it, and nothing sprouts. If you are having a...

    She finally snapped!!

When I got my smoker, my wife didn't object, but she was kind of upset when I got up at 5am or so to go start it up to do some ribs, and upset that I wouldn't leave to go shopping with her. A couple weeks later for a family get together, she insisted I smoke some more ribs, and was curious as...

Concrete smoker - anyone done it?

Thinking of making a concrete (ferrocement) smoker. Anyone ever made a smoker out of something like this before. Here's what I'm worried about: Is concrete going to be a problem with offgasing/chemicals/etc while cooking? Would ferrocement hold up to the heat (I see some pizza ovens used it...
