    They had a smaller about 1" diameter, but temp only. It said not for oven use Have a question later on in the general discussion forum for a smaller prime rib roast and figured easier to just leave it in rather than keep opening the oven to check Will try the potato method Thanks

    Did the hot water test and pointed end swung clockwise to the temp scale and hit the F/C at the end guess it works as it’s supposed to problem solved thanks DON

    I guess the butt works as well as the point then. I bought it for $2.50 at the local dollar store (doesn't make much sense there), but used my mothers old recipe for a prime rib roast which turned out fine and tasty Tried it before wrapping in foil Next time I'm by the store. Will see what...

    I'm guessing you read it from the flat end of the arrow? Odd they just didn't turn the pointed side around as it doesn't point to the what the temps lists Used it once and then put it away, but just checking Thanks DON
