    Heating elements

I have 3 used Hobart heating elements for sale. They are 5300w 208v elements which will yield about 1400 watts on 110v. I'm asking $20 ea and will ship on your dime and will accept paypal.

Thats a 120v 1650w element so there wouldn't be a drop. Didnt specify that. Sorry

    Water heater element

I also thought about 2 smaller 2000w 208v elements wired in parellel which would be about 1200w on 110v with about 10a current draw if my math is right. I have options on elements, just not sure of the best route to go.

    Water heater element

I agree I have a 5300w 208v element which would be perfect. However too large for my fridge :( thats the only reason I'm looking at other options. The water heater element was appealing due to the size but had never seen one used.

    Water heater element

I'm operating on 120v and found a 1650w element that works. But didn't know it would burn up. That's what I needed to know. Thanks!

    My new fridge build!

Yay! Picked up the fridge today. It's a Fridgidaire by GM, not a GE like I thought, but that's ok. The door is a little stuck so I'll take pictures of that later. Overall in decent shape.

    My new fridge build!

Did a test run on all my components and PID wiring today. Everything worked on the first shot thankfully. Just need to add an on/off switch and a breaker and it's all set for installation. .

    My new fridge build!

Well I still haven't got my fridge, can't seem to get time. However I was able to salvage a control box and more goodies off of a older bakery oven that is getting scrapped.

    My new fridge build!

Hey guys, decided to jump into the fridge smoker world. My fridge should be here Monday or Tuesday, it's an old GE with enameled interior. I'll be doing a pid setup and using an AMNPS for my smoke generator. I have four kids so bear with me if the progress is slow at times. I already have my...

got an idea would like some feedback on it

I think what he's thinking about is external to the cooking chamber, to even out the heating, that's why we suggested the rf design.

    Pellet Smoker Fridge Conversion

I'm curious about something. I don't see any type of exhaust control, I'm new to fridge and freezer builds so just learning. Is it because of the smoke daddy?

    negative pressure

I agree, not trying to insult your intelligence by any means, but have you tried hooking it up different? I've ran into problems with rotisserie fans before, where the fan was running backwards and still had some air flow coming out just not at volume, when I switched the feeds it corrected the...

    looking for sugestions

I'm not sure what exact product you were looking at, but a pid controller is used as a triggering device to supply power to the element, the pid controls either a solid state relay or a contactor which then feeds power to the element. The wattage of the element shouldn't matter unless you are...

Brainstorming for Third Smoker Build-Feedback Please!

Well first off welcome back! I've never done this so I'm more or less thinking out loud. Are you planning on using the non propane side by itself or only as an option for whole hog? If you want to use that for charcoal it gets a little more complex on the engineering. Either way you go I think a...

    Hobart 1512, help needed

It's pretty common on the 1512,1612, and 1712 for the gauge plate to seize. Happens from no cleaning or improper oil being used. I don't think the 1512 has an access plate for lubrication. but I don't see a lot of them anymore. The best thing to do is turn the slicer over and soak the guide rods...
