    Thanks for all of the great info and advice! I appreciate all of it. My smoker sits under the patio roof, so as long as the wind isn't too bad I'm good to go. I'm kind of thinking of the ham in the MES. Bears looked damn good and fun to cook!

    The problem with using the oven is that she is baking a ham, two pies, rolls, etc. So we can’t use the oven for long term turkey cooking.

    New Masterbuilt smoker: model 340

    I ordered the 340G directly from Masterbuilt. Arrived within a few days. I used it for the first time last Sunday. Worked great! I can't wait to use it again.
