GOSM - "big block"?? UPDATE!! :-)

Keep in mind that BPS will give you credit if your smoker is damaged and you want to keep it anyway. Mine had a couple of dents, but I didn't want to wait 2 weeks just to get another dented product. Called them up and got 15% refunded. Now go run to the store and buy some meat!

    Pickled Sausages!

This thread made me want pickled kielbasa, but I made some pickled beef mini franks, since I had some in the freezer.  1 1/2 c. water, 2 c. white vinegar, 1 tablespoon salt. I also threw in a few banana pepper rings that were in the fridge. They were ready to eat in a few days. I like this...

    Thermometer's

I haven't used the Taylor, but I just got a Redi-Check ET73 after reading some recommendations for it. I like it, and the remote transmitter is pretty handy.

    Using my Weber/Gasser to smoke???

I've used the same grill at work, but my foil packets of chips always caught on fire, so I started them on the bars, then moved up to the cooking grate. I haven't done any lengthy smokes on it, just trying to add some flavor to chicken, etc.

Pork Butt, much better than a Picnic

I used a ketchup type squirt bottle with Worcestershire, olive oil, lemon, vinegar, Emeril's Essence type seasoning, maybe some other stuff. It did taste pretty good, and the outside was not dry. I gave up on the baste after a while, though. Next pics will be off the foil, I think that it...

Pork Butt, much better than a Picnic

No relation- it's just an online name!  I've always wanted to drive one Probably poor food handling, but total time for that crazy meat was 21 hours, I put it in the smoker before it got hot, took forever to get to 135-140, then forever to get to 190, when I couldn't stand the waiting and took...

    Vacuum Sealers

I don't have a Foodsaver, but a quick search turned up gaskets and drip trays, maybe they're available for the newer/different models?

Pork Butt, much better than a Picnic

Thanks All! Low and slow for sure. That butt took 1 40oz of Bud light, a growler of BBC Steel Rail Ale, a couple beers out with my son and his girl, and some sleep to cook. I really have to work on that.

Pork Butt, much better than a Picnic

A 9lb pork butt, rubbed with McCormack Sweet&Smokey/Demera sugar mix. I don't know why, but it took forever to cook. It tasted great!

The Landmann site has an online catalog, but the prices look a bit steep to me.

I got my Big Block from BPS, ordered it end of June. Of course, it had some dents when it arrived, but since I wanted it for Independence Day, I called BPS and they gave me 15% discount. I think all of them get damaged . It was on sale for 179.99, I found an online coupon for $20, I ordered...
