Tonto and I are real exited about the Lang 60. Cheech, we haven't even really learned the fine art of fire control yet. Assuming we can figure out how to build and maintain fire and cook some good q on it over the next few weeks, we are planning on pulling it over to Clinton. My 'injuns beat...

How not to make nice smoky pork shoulders (pics)

Keywesmoke, glad to hear that you had good groceries. Over the years, we have had some bad qs 'cause we didn't leave enough time. With butts, brisketts and, to some extent, ribs, Time Is On Our Side. Givin enough time, most of these meats will taste so good, makes you want to......

Joe, sounds like the monumental project is getting closer to the goal. I use the expression: "I'm stumbling, but I'm stumbling forward!" As for my Yankees, just returned from NY and opening day. Never been to an Opening Day but for those of us from frigid confines, you know that the stinking...

My new toy showed up today

Slicer Came Today!! Box was on the door step. Had to put it into action. Only had a block of cheddar cheese, but it sliced it thin and tasty. Hefty, well made (hate that every thing is made in china) and wish it was made in a local factory by UAW guys. Look forward to the buckboard...

    Compare Your Food or Not

While I put a lot of stock on the improvement of our own q, I also compare to some of the best I've had around the country. There's an old place in down town Houston called Goode's. Brisket, mesquite, beans and cast iron corn bread.....that's the base line. We've tried many chains that...
