    Auber 1500 pid

I'm not sure either considering that yours is 65 cubic feet.(thats a big boy)       I elected not to take the original foam out of frig.build.   I firred inside with 2x2s added fiberglass r 13. I now have 2 inches of insulation over the original insulation.         The original broiler...

    Auber 1500 pid

The contactor is a 120 volts.  I switched the broiler element today for a 240/1500 watt broiler element and eliminated the  120 volt contactor. I believe the pid is pulling just over 6 amps at 240.  It eliminated the noise of contactor and ran spot on temp.   I finally got it to 250 but took...

    Auber 1500 pid

I seen in the manual that the pid can produce 50%,75%, 100 percent but with the contactor its all or nothing.  Thanks

    Auber 1500 pid

My smoker is 30 X 40x 60.   The controller does a very good job of holding a constant temp. but the contactor seems to be taking a beating.  By all means I'm not trying to give the Auber controller a bad rapp, just be aware in my situation it not a plug and play.  I do have access to a...

    Auber 1500 pid

I recently hooked the Auber 1500 up to my new refrig. build.   I'm using a 240/volt- 2700 watt broiler element as my heat source. The Auber controls a 120 volt contactor  which tries to regulate the 240 volts. So far this is working out poorly. The pid seems to leak voltage so the contactor...

Anybody ever tried Apricot for smoking?

Just got lucky and scored on some plum and pear also.Seems where I live people are more than happy to help a person out. When friends found out that I was smoking as a hobby I received all kinds of offers for free wood. I even had a offer on a free truck load of hickory.  I do like sharing my...

Looking for a ss 3/8 stuffing tube for a Lem stuffer

I have been looking all over for a long 3/8 dia. stainless stuffing tube for my Lem 15 pound  stuffer.  I believe it has a 2-1/8 base. The smallest tube that came with the stuffer is a little large for breakfast sausage and snacksticks.  Thanks

Help with chimney parts and pid.

Thanks iron horse         I'm not sure if I need two either. I use one now for my single refrig build but doesn't seem to put out a huge volume of smoke. It may be enough as I'm just a rookie.   The pid I looked at had a max.output of 12 amps. Not sure if that means at 110 or 220. I will have to...

Help with chimney parts and pid.

Hello, looking for a place to puchase a chimney for my next freezer build. I was hopeing someone would know of a site that had a chimney with a damper and rain cap.I also need information on a pid. I was thinking of using a oven element as my heat source so  the pid would have to handle 220...

    New member. Serious question.

Fatdaddy   I just got most the plastic off mine today. I'm in the same boat you were in! I put my digital thermometer probe against foam and took temp up to 350 with a heat gun  with no ill effects. It doesn't seem to burn easily unless its in direct flame and then goes out as soon as flame is...
