The chuck quarter or several chuck roasts would be your best bet. Cheap, a great fat content for taste. Also, my opinion, a combo of apple/cherry/mesquite spray in the last several hours with a apple juice mix of your choice. Lucky Eagles.
Nice build on the drum. Question for you and everybody else that has built a drum, ever thought of adding a water pan? I ask because I have a drum that I will get around to bulding eventually.
Hey I know there are a few smokers here besides myself in the Topeka KS area. Anybody ever buy any mesquite from Rees Fruit Farm? I know their apple and cherry is good, but since mesquite isn't native to these parts I wanted an opinion before I buy some. They sell it for 9.95 for a 20 pound...
Brisket sounds good, haven't done one anyway since April. Darned beef has gotten so expensive that we have been smoking lts of pork and yardbird as of late. Wish I would have had the sasafras today. Its our little summer feats day. I have 5 butts and beans in the smoker now. Only wood I had...
Anybody have an opinion on sasafras wood? A friend of mine has a relative who is a truck driver that can bring sasafras wood up from down south. Before I order mine I want to get opinions and cooking methods and meat suggestions.
Well, I have seen it all. Yup, according to the fellas I am a yankee and BBQ means cook-out. Well all is tru in one way or another. When my smoker gets fired up, its the start of a maserpiece feast. Al least they showed my favorites, pork and brisket. I have been to Texas and had several...
Well we come together to relate to a sad story that was passed along my way at work the other day. Its a story about a little boy, his mentor, a problem he had at home and the solution the little boy came up with to resolve it. So here it goes......

“Do you know what it means to come home at night to a woman who'll give you a little love, a little affection, a little tenderness? It means youâ€8482re in the wrong house, thatâ€8482s what it means.â€
As was posted earlier, Kingsford lump is full of small pieces, pops to much and doesn't burn as hot or thoroughly. You could almost do beeter than them in my opinion by going to a park and picking up twigs.
I was walking past the mental hospital the other day, and all the patients were
shouting,'13....13....13'
The fence was too high to see over, but I saw a little gap in the planks and looked through to see what was going on.
Some jerk poked me in the eye with a stick.
Then they all started...
This old and recurring but fitting anyhow. it goes like this.......
Last night when I got home from the salt mine workshop my wife demanded a night out. In fact she demanded it be someplace expensive.
So I took her to a gas station.:icon_ smile:
I am a Retired/Disabled Deputy Sheriff for the last 8 years. Recently I was doing drug testing for a halfway house for the U.S. BOP. Now I just mope around looking for work and playing with y hobbies of "Q" and scanner radio stuff. In the past before law enforcement I was also a warehouse man...
I am a loyal RO user, but my son trying to help out and not knowing exactly what he was buying bought some Kingsford lump for me last weekend when he bought the roasts. I tried it, didn't like it. Pops too much, too many crumbs and in my opinion not nearly the level of heat as my regular RO...
Buddy, you hit this on th nose. We need a combo forum. Smoked pizza burgers, a great idea. Perfect for whenever days and tailgating. Those special nights after setting up competition sights while everyone is conjoiling and enjoying adult beverages. I have to give this a go.
Yup I agree, follow the 3-2-1 and you can't go wrong. I have had his ribs, to me they are not my favorite. I just posted it because they looked mighty tasty, and maybe somebody here or there might pick something up. Especially the old paper towel trick on the membrane. What he didn't show...
Unfortunately I just heard them say on FOX News the count is 18 confirmed, 19 unconfirmed. The National Weather Service has said we are on track to set a new record and the STate of Missouri has already set a record.
I saw this video on the KCSTAR webpage that I thought some might like to view.
