    Goetta Pork Sausage

Just had goetta for breakfast.  Kroger carries it down here in some, but not all, of their stores.... and yes, I've been to Goettafest up in Cinci (well technically, in Newport, KY).  Even tried Goetta donuts one time.

Whats your favorit scotch, rye, whisky or burbon.

Favorite bourbon - Elijah Craig Single Barrel, but of the stuff I get free I prefer Knob Creek for sipping straight and Basil Hayden for making Old Fashioneds. Favorite scotch - Laphroaig. I also love JD but it's neither a scotch nor a bourbon.

    masterbuilt cold smoker kit

I went ahead and bought the Masterbuilt cold smoker just now because I could get it for 'free' with reward points from my credit card (so it's not exactly free, but it's not like I had to directly pay for it).  Will post a review after some usage.

    Old smoker in South Carolina

Welcome, Hugh.  I did a pork butt with South Carolina mustard BBQ sauce a few weeks back and turned leftovers into Carolina hash.  Would be curious to see your feedback on my recipes/methods.  If you're interested I can direct you to my thread.

    Why not Cedar ?

Just to add to this, do not under any circumstance use Eastern redcedar (a.k.a. Virginia juniper or also just called 'cedar' around where I live).  I did this once, years ago, and boy was it a mistake.  Why?  Because I was smoking spare ribs and ran out of hickory chips and had forgotten to...

    Masterbuilt cold smoker kit

Are the guys who have these generally still happy with them? I have an MES 30" and am already tired (after only 2 smokes) of loading wood chips all the time and would like to be able to do an overnight smoke.  I just was looking at my credit card rewards program and realized I can get one of...

first pork butt in MES 30" with qview

It's funny you should say that.... after I made it my wife liked it but said "This would probably be better with diced taters instead of rice."  When I was doing my homework I found people in the SC piedmont apparently do use taters instead of rice, but for my first attempt I wanted to use rice...

First of all Bear I just noticed where you live.  I grew up in Bucks County. Second of all, hash turned out good.  Pic: Looks like slop but sure doesn't taste that way. Here's the recipe.  I pretty much just made this up guessing at what I've had down in SC South Carolina Barbecue Hash 3...
