    I was in the same boat should I buy and are the reviews true? The answer is YES. I have been using it ever since I bought it. Just like the other guys say it goes toward a good cause, it keeps SMF open and working!

    New to smoking and having problems

    I start off with 1.5 -2 chimney full of lump charcoal. Lump works best I've used both lump and briquettes. Lump burns hotter. I usually add more lump around every 2 - 2.5 hours. I also throw on a couple of chunks of cherry, apple or pecan wood on to get a good smoke flavor.

    I have the same smoker and had very similar problems. The charcoal grate in this thing is not the greatest. What I did was I bought a Char-Broil stainless steel shaker basket (used for grilling shrimp/veggies on the BBQ) and cut the handles off and used that for my charcoal basket. - I fits...

    Fatty in foil pan or directly on grate?

    I put mine right on the grate. Then in the broiler to crisp up the bacon. Only for a minute ore two.

    Poll do you foil your ribs & butts???

    When I first started smoking ribs I did't foil. Now I have been using the 3-2-1 method for spares 2-2-1 for baby backs. So foil for 2 hours. I don't foil the butts.
