I'm used to rubbing my butt before I smoke it, but was curious about the injection method.
Does anyone have any suggestions on an injecting solution, experiences or antic dotes about their own outcomes they could share??
And how do you do it? I've seen the food network thing with Chris...
I'm still not 100% sure what to do about the mop...I'm just not convinced to use one over another... And seriously, if anyone else has any more suggestions I would really appreciate it. What I didn't mention earlier was this is my first crack at brisket so I'm a bit nervous!
In any case, I...
So I've almost got everything for the left handed smoke shifter! I'm still looking around for the sky hook, but a guy at work helped me out with the wet/dry shore line.
Once I get this done, anyone know where I could get some snipes to smoke? I hear they're pretty good eating!
Cherry/Apple juice and captain, that's it? So how much do you drink in between mopping???
He has a full chord of apple wood so I may go with the cherry/captn mix.
Anyone know where ya can get a left handed smoke shifter??? The guy at the store said I should just ask if someone had an extra one they could spare...
Ok seriously though, this weekend one of my buddies needs help learning how to use his smoker. We've already made some mods to his beast and...
Some days are better than others but the addiction doesn't go away. Just be careful looking at the qview, sometimes you can almost smell it...that just makes the symptoms more compelling.
Welcome and good luck!
I can't say for sure, but what I've just read about the red maple is that it's close to the silver maple. It's a soft wood and probably not recommended. I was told not to use silver maple, but YankeeRob said in his parts, they use it all the time.
I guess you have to ask yourself, do you...
I just had a couple silver maples cleaned up in my yard. When I asked if they could cut some down to size, the arborist told me that the wood from silvers is *not* good for smoking. It'll give your food a bitter taste. If it's a harder wood, no problem.
This is just an interesting site... It breaks down by region what people call their carbonated beverages. It's a little dated (2002) but still relevant.

I have regularly read the posting on this site and others for several months now and I just officially joined this site the other day. I have to say there is such a wealth of information here, I would hate to see that lost. I am at a point in my hobby that one forum is just as good as any...
Keep buyin' that coke! Berkshire need to make a turnaround!
And I have to agree with ajthepoolman, adding coke to the water pan does give poultry a nice flavor!
By "serious" I mean I am trying to learn as much as I can to really appreciate good bbq. Starting as a CBJ, I hope to taste some of the best...I need to know if what I'm cooking is actually worth a spit!
